Beauty // Make-Up Academy Haul

I’m a funny stage in my life where I’m intentionally opting to spend my money on homeware and good wine for the weekends, rather than on expensive make up…which use to bring me so much joy. I needed to upgrade my make-up collection and purchase a few items…but I didn’t want to spend a fortune.  After following them on Instagram for quite a while, I decided to give Make- Up Academy a go as I knew they were cheaper than my usual products but just as good. And I must say, I’ve been pleasantly surprised! This entire haul, of 5 items, came in at just £13 – including foundation, a lipstick and brow product. I picked up the Skin Define Matte Perfect foundation, Brow Define tinted brow mascara, a matte pink lipstick, a concealer and the Strobe and Glow Highlight Kit. I’ve been wearing the face items every day to work and it’s gotta be said…I’m impressed! My foundation and brows are staying put and the highlighter adds just the right amount of shimmer for the office! …

Rock on Ruby Clothes Swap Blogger Event

Last weekend I was lucky enough to attend the Rock on Ruby blogger event in Manchester. It was a fabulous afternoon, held at Font Bar near Oxford Rd station. It’s always lovely to attend events and meet a whole host of bloggers from across North-West. The theme of the meet up was a clothing, accessories and beauty swap. It was the perfect opportunity to have a little Spring clean and rid a couple of items from my wardrobe that I’d bought but still had the tags on, oops! There was a great turn-out and I managed to pick up a gorgeous long, gold necklace and a gold eyeshadow. I steered clear from the rails of clothes as I have too many as it is! As I was in Manchester I thought I’d head over to Primark and pick up another one of their coconut and vanilla candles which I blogged about here – I’m a bit obsessed at the minute! After a quick pit-stop for some lunch at Dough in the NQ and a visit to …

Viva Las Vegas glam with Thomas Cook

Last Wednesday I was lucky enough to be invited along to an exclusive blogger event hosted by Thomas Cook airlines. Divas Glam Vegas flew into Manchester, allowing us North-West based bloggers to experience the Vegas lifestyle for one night only. Held at the gorgeous Milton Club on Deansgate, we were treated to delicious cocktails, a make-up station and a Britney Spears lookalike no less – complete with a performance of Toxic The dress-code was sparkles, sequins and fabulous. I decided on a metallic gold shift dress – perfect for a day at work and a slick of dark berry lipstick applied on the train into the city. The event was nothing like I’d been to before. The team at Thomas Cook explained how it’s cheaper to fly from Manchester to Vegas, New York and Miami than anywhere else in the UK. And, they wanted to treat Northern bloggers to the glitz and glam that can only be experienced in one of the sassiest cities in the world – Las Vegas. It was so lovely to …

Parklife Festival: My return to blogging…

Once again, long time no blog. This year I keep falling in and out of love with blogging, but after a few months away I have started to miss it. I stopped reading blogs daily too after feeling quite dis-connected with it all and the ‘community’ but I’m determined to turn that around starting now.  I’ve got a great couple of posts planned and having read a couple of different bloggers posts focusing on blogging and life in general from Kat at KatherineLouise, Lily over at LlyMlrs and Victoria at VIPXO to name but a few, I’m back in the game! So enough of that for today and let’s get on with today’s post. First and foremost I am a lifestyle blogger and festival posts have been my bread and butter since I started fresh out of uni in the summer of 2010. And this year I plan to be back with a vengeance! Having already ticked off Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park last month and signalling the start of summer, last weekend I headed to …

2013- Yearly Round-Up

A popular blog post that is doing the rounds at the moment is the 2013 round up post. Last New Years I was really sad to see the back of 2012 as it was such a fun, awesome year and I didn’t know if 2013 could live up to the hype. Well it some ways it kinda didn’t but over-all it was a fab year. 2013 didn’t bring any drama, upset or stress. Life these day is kinda a-ok. I like my job, love my friends, discovered who to trust, lean on and who is there at the drop of a hat and I have some fun memories from the past 12 months with my favourite people. These are just a snap shot of my highlights! I took the train down to London in February for the day to attend London Fashion Weekend. It was a great day and fab to see the shows. We had an amazing summer and after work each night I went on walks in the sunshine with my dog- Buttons. …
