Fashion // Three Failsafe Date Night Outfits

Getting dressed up to head out for dinner, drinks or both is my fave kinda date night. Gone are the days of going ‘out out’ and heading to a club, combine food and cocktails are the opportunity to spend a few hours getting ready (easily the best part of the night) and I’m a happy gal. When it comes to dressing for date nights, there are various different outfits I go through before I’ve found ‘The One’. Sometimes all-out glam is the way, think dress, heels and my brightest red lipstick. Other days, I’m all for comfort and want to wear a slouchy dress, flat boots but still feel put together. So, I thought I’d share with you three new additions to my wardrobe from Tobi that are ideal for date night. Whether it’s your first date together or 100th visit to your favourite restaurant, my three go-to outfits are pretty failsafe! The Sexy Maxi Dress Let’s start off with the glam option. This is the kinda outfit I channel on holiday with flats or …

Fashion // Buying The Handbag Of My Dreams

Ok, so I’ve always been a handbag girl. Ever since I can remember, I’ve lusted after new bags and for years I was always working towards my next bag. Back when I was 16 and got my first job, I remember heading to Debenhams to the Fiorelli concession when I’ve saved up to treat myself to my first ‘proper’ handbag. It was black with fuchsia pink ties on the handles and it was love. So, fast forward 13 years and I back fangirling over Fiorelli bags once more… I’ve been on the hunt for a stylish backpack in soft leather that I can use for work and at the weekend. And over a month ago, I found the one. This red backpack is just a dream. Its super soft, a cute mini size whilst still being big enough to fit all my daily bits inside and I adore the chain detailing across the front. I spotted it back in November but at full price I couldn’t reason splashing out so kept checking back in the …

Fashion // My A/W Capsule Wardrobe

Since losing weight over the last six months, I’ve found a lot of my larger winter clothes just don’t fit. However, hitting the shops after losing weight and trying clothes a size or two smaller can be quite daunting. Whilst it’s a fantastic feeling as your hard work and sticking ‘on plan’ is paying off, it’s hard to know how to dress your new body shape and which pieces to invest in for the upcoming colder months. Rather than getting hot and bothered in the shops and braving the changing rooms, I decided to online shop instead. The change in seasons is the perfect time to perfect your capsule wardrobe, so I turned to LOTD to invest in a couple of pieces that I know I will wear throughout the winter…. I started by delving into my wardrobe and had a mammoth trying-on sesh. Filling charity bags with clothes that no longer fit and removing the temptation to keep items that were on the larger size, so I don’t have any ‘comfort’ clothes in-case I …

Fashion // The £14 Matalan Bag I’m Loving

So, it’s official. Autumn has arrived and we’re all loving it as it’s the perfect opportunity to wear boots, shop for a new coat and get cosy! But for me, the change in seasons signals my seasonal bag swap! I’m a handbag girl through and through and digging out a new handbag as the weather turns is a true signal, change is gon’ come… So, when I delved into the wardrobe recently for the quarterly switcharoo, I realised I no longer have a black cross body bag. I’m much-preferring crossbody styles at the minute and the absence of one meant a shopping trip was on the cards! Matalan is my shop of choice when I want to get something nice without spending too much but a piece that the world and his wife doesn’t own yet. This black mini tote bag was just £14 and I love the simplistic design and gold hardware. The studs on the cross body strap are a bit different and it’s big enough for everyday. So, what do I carry in my …

Fashion // Recycle Old Clothes with iCollectClothes

Since I started working in Liverpool city centre last year, I’ve definitely become more aware of those in need and helping out with local charities. Through my workplace, we worked on a brand campaign earlier this year raising money for The Whitechapel Centre, the homeless charity and donated to food banks. There’s something about working in the city, that definitely brings homelessness and the need for donations to the forefront and this is something I want to help with over the next few months. I’ve already enquired about taking part in the Liverpool Sleepout – which is raising awareness about the growing number of homeless people in the city. But the old saying is, charity starts at home…. iCollectClothes recently got in touch with me to see if we can explore ways of working together and I was keen to find out more. I don’t know about you, but when I moved house back in May we found reams of clothes, accessories and shoes spread across our bedroom and the spare bedroom. Whilst the majority …

Fashion // Primark Haul

Every few months I have this feeling of being in a style rut. My workplace doesn’t really have a dress code so anything goes, which one hand is great as I’m not restricted but on the other, it means I wear the same item from my wardrobe on repeat. Last year, I posted weekly blog posts on what I’d worn every day of that week in a bid to mix it up and fall back in love with old items in my wardrobe. But, the new months and with Spring around the corner, I felt it was time for a Primark trip to snap up a couple of new items to breathe new life into my everyday outfits. Two trends that I’m loving this year are embroidery and gingham. So I decided to get in on the action with this gorgeous black pleather skirt, complete with intricate emboidery detail. I love the colour and it’s a lovely fit – perfect for tights and black converse with a roll neck jumper or an oversize shirt tucked …

Blogging // Liverpool Bloggers Ignite is coming….

The Liverpool Blogger Workshop is just two weeks away and I still can’t actually believe the event is happening! Hosting my own blogger event is something I’ve wanted to do for a while but time/money/ability to make it happen, felt out of reach. However back in February, I decided to take the bull by the horns and see if I could make it happen! Billed as a Liverpool Bloggers Workshop and under the hashtag #livbloggersignite, I wanted to create a workshop event; complete with guest speakers, brand participation and a social hub for a variety of bloggers to meet and chat. Thanks to the lovely team at Roja Pinchos, the event is on Saturday 1st April and four guest speakers are confirmed; covering topics from WordPress and platforms to SEO, Liverpool Girl Geeks and how to become your own boss. When I started to send the invites, part of me was convinced no one would attend…however the response has blown me away with such a diverse range of bloggers signed up to attend. Parent, mummy, …

Fashion // Spring Florals at Aintree Retail Park

I don’t know about you but this week the seasons appear to be shifting with blue skies and sunshine making a welcome appearance. Spring appears to be en route but I’m really struggling with what to wear at the minute. You know those weeks where you hate your clothes, your hair, your figure….yep, I’m on a Debbie Downer. So Aintree Shopping Park got in touch at the right time! The shopping park is usually my go to for homeware but I wanted to invest in something to boost my mood and a piece that I can wear into the coming months.  If you know me, you’ll know I’m a handbag girl through and through. My love affair with bags began back in my teen years and I just love them. I don’t mean to sound snobby but I’m trying to update my collection and get rid of my Primark bags and cheaper bags that were bought on a whim with bags that I love, are better quality and will wear for seasons and years to …
