It’s been a hot minute since we talked about fashion and clothes around here, which is weird cos I’m someone who looks forward to getting dressed every day. There’s so much fun to be had with fashion and because I’m not restricted in my day-to-day by uniforms or dress codes, I very much live my best life.
I’m sure I speak for us all when I say I’m super hyped about spring – it’s time for winter to do one, surely? I’m beyond ready to shed the layers, put chunky coats back into the wardrobe and embrace lighter layers. I also hope I don’t jinx us now and we end up with longer winter weather.
SO, with that said, I’ve felt inspired by my wardrobe again lately thanks to the return of lighter mornings and longer evenings. It being light enough to do the after-work dog walk in sunshine is all I want from life tbh. There are four items that have switched up my looks and dragged me back from the depths of winter and I’ve also figured out what my wardrobe is missing. Pre-spring shopping spree, anyone?
As soon as it hit March and I saw sunshine I knew it was the green light to get my trench coat out of storage. This baby from New Look is around four years old now and still going strong. It’s the perfect layering piece and in terms of cost per wear, that’s been truly smashed out the park by now.
Nothing screams sunshine dressing in my book that all the colour. I openly refer to myself as a walking rainbow and I’m super excited for the start of spring so I can embrace all of the colour and print. I had a pale pink blazer that was second-hand Topshop via Ebay and it was worn to death so this hun is pink blazer part 2 from ISawItFirst. I can see this being a real staple for work during the summer and I’m already considering a pale green or yellow blazer too….
I picked this beauty up from the first Scarlet Wonderland swap shop and it’s from Boohoo originally. It’s been a great addition over the winter, layered over black roll necks with chunky boots and I’m excited to wear it with espadrille sandals and black studded sandals in the summer. I’m so over wearing trousers and jeans. Anyone else keep looking at their denim jacket in the wardrobe and keep whispering to it ‘soon’….
This is the newest addition to my wardrobe, and I have this top in black and white as it’s so versatile and such a fab transitional piece. I wore it to the latest swap shop with jeans and my beige mock-crock chunky boots; however, it looks just as good with trainers and a parka jacket too. I’m excited to get my wear out of this item over the coming months.
After a cold and miserable few months, I’m excited to style up new outfits and shed the layers! In terms of items I’ve got my eye on, I’d love to add a blazer and skirt co-ord to my wardrobe, along with a couple more coloured blazers. I have a lot of prints in my current blazer collection, which I’m not mad about, however, I’m ready to mix it up with a few more colours (much to my fiancé’s despair, as he often calls me a walking Crayola). Spring, I’m beyond ready for you!
