Ruth Writes is a 30-something Liverpool based blog covering mid-size fashion, pescatarian food and beauty.
I can’t believe I’ve been blogging for 10 years in June this year. From starting this blog back in June 2010, I never thought it would still be going strong a decade later and have been such a pivotal part of my twenties and early thirties. It’s brought me opportunities, been a great talking point in interviews throughout my career, from being a graduate to now eight years later as a seasoned marketer and I’ve made lasting friendships from it too. Seeing that written down, it certainly is a lot to be thankful for.
Which takes us to the present day. March 2020 and this year I’m all for positive changes. After four years of working in my current role, I will be leaving the company in early April and I’m currently working out my next step. I’m in a fortunate position to be able to take stock and figure out what’s next. That’s not to say I don’t have ideas in the pipeline, but I’m excited to start afresh.
Influencer Marketing Queens in a fun, fresh platform, that’s tongue-in-cheek yet offering industry advice and tips for bloggers, content creators and small businesses looking to expand their outreach offering. If you know me IRL, you’ll know how passionate I am about the blogger industry and I wanted to expand on that in a way that’s truly me.
I’m excited for the coming months and to see what the next leg of my career is. Digital marketing is ever-changing with new social platforms emerging (hello TikTok), Google algorithms to contend with and Instagram truly being the beast that noone understands and I’m such an advocate for on-the-job learning and experience, I’m so intrigued to see what’s next.
Change is as good as a rest and I’m such a believer in doing what’s best for your head and your heart – here’s to the next step!
