Here we have it, another January, aka the longest month in the whole year. Payday is weeks away, it’s cold and my next scheduled bit of time of work in about seven weeks away.
So, my mantra for 2019 is ‘find the joy in everyday’. For me, it’s being in my pj’s by half 6 every evening after work, catching up on my YouTube sub box and putting some love into my blog again by planning posts for the coming weeks.
I was #blessed to receive some lovely gifts for Christmas. Mainly cos Darren actually took notice of hints for the first time in years and I had exactly what I asked for sat waiting.
I asked for In The Frow’s book ‘The New Fashion Rules’ shortly after its release and was super happy to settle down at the start of the year to read each chapter. Victoria has clearly put a lot of research and thought into the book and as someone who has followed fashion from the release of LC’s book, the trends that were worn on The Hills and from the early noughties to now, it’s a great way to see how the fashion industry has evolved over time and moved with technology. A great read.
I love starting the new year afresh with a fresh bottle of scent. My go-to perfume is YSL Black Opium, but this year I found a bottle of Dior waiting for me. I also adore the Dior bag it came in and that will go on show in our spare room/my dressing room.
It has a lovely grown-up scent to it and it’s really long-wearing. I love seeing perfume bottles out on my dressing table too and this one has blended it perfectly.
I’ve never really nailed the perfect nude lip before, but decided 2019 was gonna be the year I tone down from my bright pinks and embrace something barely there.
This is my first Huda Beauty product, I actually got it in the December Birchbox and oh wow, I love it. It’s really easy to apply and I can barely feel it when wearing it – that’s exactly what I want from a matte lipstick. This is my new go-to work colour.
