Last week I had some annual leave to take, and cos Darren’s a teacher I always try and take it in half term, which in turn means I get to see friends who work in schools. Enter Natalie. We met at uni over 10 years ago and we were well overdue a catch up so I headed into Manchester to meet her for our lunch reservation a Grand Pacific.
I’d seen Grand Pacific on Insta, as it’s a very ‘grammable place. Think tall ceilings, a very bouji bar and lots of gold hardware. Combine that with a bottle of wine or two and we had a lovely lunchtime catch-up on our hands.
Taking a seat in the bar to begin with, we caught up over a bottle of rose and waited to be seated in the restaurant section of the v large room, just tucked behind the bar.
Indulging in the lunchtime menu, we went all out with three courses each in the most luxe surroundings. As I’m newly pescatarian, I went for –
- Thai Fishcakes to start £6.95
- Spiced Vegetable Roti £10.95
- Chocolate Fondant
Very indulgent, very moreish and well-earned during some time off work! I loved the decor and next time I’m in Manchester, I’d defo love to head back and sample the cocktail menu!
