So, it’s happening…I’m participating in Blogmas! Every year I look forward to reading everyone’s posts and watching Vlogmas, however, this year I decided to go one further and join in! …
I think we all have those brands that we’re loyal to. Whether you find their mascara to be your holy grail, the price point is en point or you just haven’t found a better brand out there…for whatever reason, they’re your go-to.
Mine is Technic Cosmetics.
Super cheap, lasting products and always bringing out innovative new products that I can’t wait to get my hands on. So, when an email landed in my inbox from them as they noticed I’d featured them on my blog before I was so happy. It’s proof in the pudding that brands look at all calibre of blogs and I was so excited to find out what they very kindly wanted to send me!
After a couple of days wait and a speedy hotfoot down to the Post Office, I had the package in my hands! Filled to the brim with some of the latest releases, it’s safe to say, at this initial unboxing, I was already a fan! I will be doing full reviews of each of the products weekly throughout December, showing you which products are my fave.
At first impressions, I’m loving the eyeshadow palette. It’s the baked bronzing eyeshadow palette that I first picked up from Technic Cosmetics and I will continue to use this one now too. I love the mix of colours, especially the khaki shade with a touch of the bronze pin on the inner eye.
Next up, I’m already a huge fan of the highlighters. The golden powder is perfect for my skin tone, whilst I can’t wait to get stuck into the unicorn highlight. I’m gonna have to watch a couple of tutorials first to get an understanding of how it’s supposed to look first though!
The pinky matte tone of the Colourstix lipstick is perfect for my skin tone and it’s even eat & drink proof. A surefire way of testing a lasting lippie! I’ve worn it a couple of times already and it’s not drying or easy to smudge. Defo one to wear throughout autumn.
Lastly, I was so happy when I saw I had been kindly gifted a Metallix. I’ve spotted these creamy shimmery eyeshadow sticks all over Instagram and I was planning on getting my hands on one, ahead of the party season. It’s super pigmented and glossy. I can’t wait to layer it with the baked eyeshadow palette to create a smoky, bronze eye look!
I don’t think you can go wrong with a pub lunch and when you know it’s a good one, it’s something to behold. The Sandpiper in Bickerstaffe is the perfect …
I don’t know about you but soon after I first discovered make up I became MAC obsessed. Studio fix foundation was my go-to, between the ages of 17-21 and everyone has dabbled with Ruby Woo lipstick in their time. However, as my love for make up expanded, I sadly left MAC behind. But I was lucky enough to attend the Met Quarter Christmas Press Day a couple of weeks ago and I was re-introduced to the brand and their amazing Snowball Collection.
Honestly, it’s a game-changer.
The event in itself was fab and there were so many amazing pieces to fawn over, ahead of writing up your Christmas list! With standout brands such as Daniel Footwear, Michael Kors and Illamsqua, it’s the perfect one-stop shop to stock up on gorgeous presents for friends and loved ones.
However, for me, the standout presence at the event was the MAC Snowball Collection. It compromises of gorgeous gold and bronze tones. There was an MUA at the event from the MAC store within the Met Quarter, so naturally, I had to take advantage and try a couple of the eye products!
Firstly, I adore the packaging. The golden packaging lipsticks are fab and perfect for unwrapping under the Christmas tree! The highlighters are so pigmented with a bronze/gold finish and I just adored them. I’m quite picky about highlight because I’m quite pale and I don’t like being too blingy, but I loved the golden tones of these from the latest collection.
And, how amazing is the lipstick palette below? Complete with 12 matte shades, varying from light pinky shades to gorgeous deep bronze and purple shades – perfect for glamming up for Christmas parties with a golden smoky eye. Funny that…
I can’t wait to get my hands on a couple of pieces from the collection and I really hope I unwrap one of the lipsticks or eyeshadows on December 25th…
Since losing weight over the last six months, I’ve found a lot of my larger winter clothes just don’t fit. However, hitting the shops after losing weight and trying clothes a size or two smaller can be quite daunting. Whilst it’s a fantastic feeling as your hard work and sticking ‘on plan’ is paying off, it’s hard to know how to dress your new body shape and which pieces to invest in for the upcoming colder months.
Rather than getting hot and bothered in the shops and braving the changing rooms, I decided to online shop instead. The change in seasons is the perfect time to perfect your capsule wardrobe, so I turned to LOTD to invest in a couple of pieces that I know I will wear throughout the winter….
I started by delving into my wardrobe and had a mammoth trying-on sesh. Filling charity bags with clothes that no longer fit and removing the temptation to keep items that were on the larger size, so I don’t have any ‘comfort’ clothes in-case I do gain weight back and more importantly, to spur me on to hit my next target – my two stone award…hopefully before Christmas!
The items missing, which I wanted to invest/update were –
At this time of year I love midi dresses as they’re perfect to dress up or down, either for work with biker boots for quite a grungy look or with heels on date nights.
I adored this burgundy popper detail midi dress. The high neck means you feel covered up but still quite sexy thanks to the bodycon fit and popper detailing on the skirt. I can’t wait to style it up with black heels and a black faux fur coat.
Dresses are such a favourite of mine and when I spotted the grey t-shirt dress, I knew I had to snap it up! It’s a fab shape and feels so comfy on. I’ve started to team this with leather look leggings and boots to wear on casual days at work and during the weekend.
I think every gal’s wardrobe needs long sleeve tops and t-shirts to wear under dresses, with skirts or just to team with a pair of jeans. I loved the ruffle detail of this stone/beige coloured long sleeve top. I opted for a size 12 so it fitted nicely as I plan to wear it underneath pinafore style dresses and strappy summer midi dresses, as I transition them into winter with boots and fluffy coats.
Can you even go shopping/make an online order without adding a jumper or two at this time of year? I adored the chevron detail on this cream/beige/navy jumper and it’s so cosy. As soon as it arrived, I had it on the very next day and it’s been worn none-stop and washed a couple of times already! It looks really cute with mini skirts and tights as well as thrown on with jeans and my aviator jacket. I’m a fan, okay…
*Thank you LOTD for gifting me with new wardrobe essentials in exchange for this blog post 🙂
Since joining Slimming World in June this year, my attitudes towards food has massively changed. I consider the brands I buy when shopping, like to think about ingredients, meal plan …
