Over the summer I’ve become a shadow of my former self. In the sense that, I no longer wear foundation. As a self-confessed foundation lover, this is quite something. I’ve found myself no longer needing a heavy coverage and favouring BB cream instead.
I’ve always been a foundation fan – Estee Lauder Double Wear is the ultimate bae. However, I’ve really tried to curb my spending over the last 12 months, so Superdrug offers are where my money goes. And you know what? It aint that bad! I do love high end brands but seeing as I paint my face on every day for work, I’m enjoying doing it a little bit on the cheap.
As we move into autumn in the next few weeks I think I may need to step it up a notch to keep up with the changing weather, but here’s a quick round up of the items I’m loving (and using daily!) at the minute…
I’m trying to get back into a skincare regime after avoiding all face creams and moisturisers over summer and starting with this little pot of goodness. For the low, low price of 99p, it does exactly what it says on the tin. I’m slathering on generously every night before bed and my face feels amazing. It may be the new bae.
I bought this a couple of months ago and it’s going the distance. Long-lasting, great coverage and feels like makeup, whilst being good for my skin! I love Simple as a brand so when I spotted this for a fiver it was a no-brainer. The shade may be a tad too dark for my very pale complexion but I only use a bit on each cheek and my t-zone and it does the trick from applying it at 7 am to 5 pm. Perf.
Bad beauty blogger alert….I have no idea what ‘collection’ this mascara is from as I clearly failed at photographing the packaging correctly. However, I’ve been using it for months. Probably since around May and it’s still doing its job. Easy to apply, not too cakey and makes my lashes look really long with just 2-3 strokes of the brush. Dreamy.
Ok, so first up, yes I am a mahoosive Kardashians fan. Someone’s got to be, right? But that isn’t why I bought this lipstick. I was after a peachy nude shade and once I’d tried it on at the concession in Selfridges, I knew I had to have it. Yes, this is the slightly pricier item in my make up bag, but you get so much wear out of a good lipstick and it’s great for sassin’ up my look a little if I’m heading out after work!
And I couldn’t finish this post without mentioning the actual makeup bag of dreams. Rose gold? Tick. Glitter? Tick. Pom pom zip? Tick. It’s fab, isn’t it? It’s quite small so not suitable for hauling around my entire makeup collection but I think it may transition into my work bag soon with lipsticks and what not in, as it’s too pretty to keep in a drawer!
