Food // Date Night at Vincent Kitchen

If you haven’t yet ventured out to Vincent Kitchen on Bold Street, the question is, why not?! As one of the newest additions to the Bold Street independent landscape, it’s a healthy fast food alternative if you want to eat well and feel great afterwards. Now, I have waxed lyrical about my love for Vincent Kitchen before, but when you enjoy something so much, it makes sense to return time and time again!

If you’re next to Vincent Kitchen, the premise is simple. Specialising in bowl food and poke salads, the eatery is gluten, wheat and dairy free and packed full of goodness. The restaurant has recently introduced table service to their repertoire and it appears to be going from strength to strength.

Spoilt for choice, my partner opted for the Moroccan lamb as recommended to us by the really helpful staff and it was a fantastic shout. Myself, I was a little pickier and opted to build my own. The satay sauce was a game changer on my last visit and I couldn’t help but include it in my bowl this time round! However, the Thai fish cakes were new to the menu and I thought they would complement picked veg and jasmine rice perfectly!

Both of our bowls were packed with flavour and utterly delicious. My partner granted me a taste of the lamb and it was everything great lamb should be. Cooked extremely well for 48 hours, soft from the bone and packed with the Moroccan influenced spices, chickpeas and flavour you would expect.

Whilst I did have a twinge of jealousy over his lamb, the fishcakes were divine. Light, fluffy and worked so well with the rest of my bowl. I can confirm, every mouthful was devoured and we’re already planning our next trip!

The menu had two new desserts – chocolate tapioca or an egg custard. Both were utterly delicious, rich and very moreish. We may have begun to share the desserts initially, however after a mouthful or two of the chocolate tapioca I was sold!

I just love Vincent Kitchen – the decor, atmosphere and all importantly, the food is spot on. It’s speedy service and the dishes we ordered tasted delicious. If you haven’t been yet…what are you waiting for?
