Recipe // Caribbean Pineapple and Chilli Sticky Sauce*

Ok so I’m gonna hold my hands up and admit, I’m not really a fan of sweet and sour sauces. Generally I find them too sweet and in all honesty, I much prefer a savoury-tasting dish. But, I’m on a quest to discover new recipes to try and expand my cooking repertoire.
Santa Maria* sauces recently got in touch to ask if I’d like to sample some of their new products, taking from their Latin America inspired menu. Naturally, I was curious and after a quick check on the Slimming World app to see just how naughty they were, I decided the 6syn per portion meals seemed worth a go!
Caribbean Pineapple and Chilli Sticky Sauce
The postie arrived with a whole host of sauces, rice and rubs to try – some of which I’ll be featuring in coming posts so stay tuned, and I couldn’t wait to get prepping and see what I could rustle up!
I opted to try the Caribbean Pineapple and Chilli Sticky Sauce first. Opting to have it with chicken, peppers, courgettes and spinach, it definitely tasted naughty yet just so nice! The pouch was the perfect size for the two and I decided to serve with a side portion of boiled rice and homemade Slimming World chips and cheese!
This averaged out at around 8 syns per serving so quite hefty from your daily intake but not too much. Plus, you get to have rice and chips!

The sauce was packed with flavour and you can use as many veggies as you wish. Personally, I prefer to pack my food with speedy veg but it’s totally your call!
