Life // First-Time Renting With Your Partner

Ahh renting. It’s a funny thing renting a home. Whether it’s a room in a shared house or flat, or an entire house, like me and my boyfriend do, the ability to have your own space, without actually owning the property is weird. We’re currently in our second rented house and whilst I’ve loved both houses for completely different reasons, there’s always the reminder that it’s not yours. Whether you’re a long-time renter or considering it, there are a few things to consider when you’re thinking of moving into your first rented home with your partner. Magnolia, everywhere. First up, you need to try and see past the magnolia walls. I know, it’s hard cos they’re everywhere and after a while, when you’ve had one too many glasses of wine, it can look a bit yellow. If you’re lucky to have a super-relaxed landlord who lets you paint and decorate, amazing, otherwise you’re stuck with the magnolia. We have very different tastes when it comes to home decor, so whilst we argue it out now …

Brunch // Space Coffee, Aigburth Road

Any blogger worth their weight in Instagram posts has their favourite cafes and restaurants which they regularly visit due to a number of reasons; super cute and Instagrammable decor, amazing food and great drinks. So when I was recently invited to a ‘Bloggers Brunch’ at Space Coffee on Aigburth Road I jumped at the chance as it’s known on social media for being serious goals. Space Coffee was really easy to find from Aigburth train station and once we were welcomed by the lovely team at SK Events PR team, we were shown outside to the beautifully colourful terrace area. I was at Space Coffee to attend a ‘Bloggers Brunch’ afternoon. In total, there were 5 of us in attendance and the weather was perfect for it! Once we took a look at the menu, we were seriously spoilt for choice! With a choice of breakfast foods, burgers, sandwiches and this bad boy…the fish finger sandwich! I’m a sucker for a fish finger buttie at the best of times, but once I found out it …

Fashion. One little word that we all interpret completely differently. I love how everywhere you look, we all have our own personal style. Food // Vincent Kitchen, Bold Street

After a couple of weeks of pure indulgence and giving in to too many glasses of prosecco, bowls of chips and the contents of the treat cupboard in my kitchen, it was high time I said ‘enough was enough’ and treated my body to some goodness in form of Vincent Kitchen. Handily located on Bold Street, Vincent Kitchen is just the place to head for if you want to go out for a meal but edge towards the healthier side when ordering. Thanks to its Asian-influenced menu and specialising in bowl food, you can work your way along the line to create a bespoke bowl exactly to your taste. Each of the bowls are gluten, wheat and dairy-free so if you’ve got allergies, you’re catered for. So, if you’re wondering what bowl food is – it’s literally your meal in a bowl. Whilst it may sound boring on paper, I can confirm my choice was full of flavour and definitely had a kick – giving a firm nod to the Asian influences across the menu. …

Food // Turtle Bay, Hanover Street

When it comes to eating out I tend to stick t what I know, often giving spicy food a miss but when the lovely team at Turtle Bay got in touch asking if I’d like to pop along to either one of the two Liverpool branches to sample the new menu, I decided it’s high time I try new things. We opted to spend a belated birthday date night at the Hanover Street branch to extend celebrations further! We arrived with rumbling tummies and ready to dive straight in to the menu. To start, I went for the Trini Doubles, flatbread filled with curried chickpeas and Darren opted for the been glazed ribs. Both packed with flavour and utterly delicious. After taking advantage of the 2 for 1 cocktails, our mains arrived and we eagerly tucked in! I’m not the best with spice so chose the Mo Bay Chicken with rice and peas and a side of cheesy jerk fries. The sweet coconut sauce complemented the kick to the jerk fries and it was so …

Food // Meet Frank, Ghetto Golf

Recently there’s been one name that’s been cropping up across the city in terms of new places to eat, Frank. Or Meet Frank to be precise. Located inside Cains Brewery at Ghetto Golf within the Baltic Triangle, Meet Frank is the place to head if you’re craving a hot dog. Making waves across the Liverpool street food scene, Meet Frank caters to meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. So no-one has to miss out on loaded hot dogs, packed with flavour! After a very fun game of mini golf, hunger was at an all time high so I opted for the Frank-In-Blanket – an oak smoked dog wrapped in bacon topped with crispy shoestring potatoes and a very moreish honey and mustard sauce. Plus with sweet potato fries on the side (obvs), it was utterly delcious!
