One thing I love about being a blogger in Liverpool is the diversity in events and the opportunities that knock every once in a while. Known for its independent restaurants, great bars and diversity when it comes to dining; the introduction of a new organic food market on Bold Street was welcomed with open arms!
Encouraging city dwellers and the average Joe give a vegetarian or vegan diet a go, the food market which opened recently is Liverpool’s answer to Whole Foods. Always one to stay ahead of the curve, Bold Street is the perfect location and when I received an invite to pop along to the launch night, how could I refuse!
Complete with a fruit and veg market, deli counter, store cupboard aisles and even health and beauty products; all vegetarian and vegan friendly, the Liv Food Market is a welcome addition. After a slight confusion over the event time, we were welcomed into the market and given the opportunity to browse the aisles, take those all-important Instagram snaps and sample a couple of the items available, directly from the venders.
The aesthetic of the store was beautiful. The café area was kitted out in grey marble with intricate decorations. It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat whilst you’re in town – or enjoy a glass of alcohol-free drink and sample the utterly delicious food on offer.
Moving further inside the market, the fruit and veg section is truly rustic. As is the bakery section, whilst the rest of the store is very contemporary in design and layout. The store was so easy to navigate and I loved having a nosey at the items on sale – I mean, the volume of nut butters, variations of almond milk and healthy snacks on sale was amazing. I also loved moseying at the fresh spices – I love adding flavour to cooking, so this was right up my street!
Moving around to the deli counter, I need to re-visit just to try the fresh tortellini on sale and the rustic breads looked delicious. Whilst it’s not going to be my first port of call to do my food shop, I can see myself stocking up on core items and knowing it’s easy to find under one roof is fab.
If you’ve not yet been, I think it’s worth taking a trip over to Bold Street so see what hidden gems you can find amongst the aisles!
