Beauty // Dyson Blow Dry Masterclass

I was lucky enough to bag myself a blow dry tutorial with the lovely Jaime at Dyson in John Lewis. Using the amazing Dyson hairdryer, I was treated a gorgeous bouncy curly blow so I can could first hand how good the new hairdryer really is!  Located amongst the beauty counters in the L1 John Lewis, you’ll find a Dyson stand. As some of you may remember, I used to work at ao.com and the hairdryer was released around the time I left so I was keen to get to grips with it and see how it fares against my hairdryer at home.  So, what do you need to know? Well, firstly it’s super speedy and very quiet. If it were to be used in salons, you can hear your hairdresser without having to shout. And whilst it dries and styles hair alot quicker than the average hairdryer, it doesn’t heat your hair as much therefore it looks after and cares for your hair. I asked for a curly blow and I was so surprised …

Beauty // Skinny Tan Express Mousse Review

Fake tan isn’t something I usually cover, however with the sprinkles of the sunshine we’ve been treated to lately, I can’t help but want to wear dresses and my beloved culottes. So, I need to address my winter skin and add a touch of sunkissed colour courtesy of Skinny Tan Express Mousse. Best known for its speedy reacting time, the Express Mousse can take between 1-3 hours to develop, depending on your desire shade. So if you’re heading ‘out-out’ on a Saturday night, simply add a layer of colour for 1, 2 or 3 hours and then shower off. As I only wanted to achieve a light tan, so I used a thin layer to get a touch of colour and left it on for an hour. It works in three stages – one hour provides a classic tan, two hours for a medium tan and three hours if you’d like a slightly darker colour. Combining natural oils and guarana to firm the skin, Skinny Tan works harder than most to keep the moisture in …

Beauty // New In Liquid Lipsticks

There’s so many lipstick brands on the market now and celebrity collections inspired by the Kylie Jenner range. With Charlotte Crosby having released her own collection, when an email landed in my inbox about fellow Geordie Shore housemate Chloe’s collection of liquid lipsticks I thought why not give it a go! It’s my birthday next week and I love to wear a bold lip when we go out for dinner and this felt like the perfect shade! Entitled ‘Rouge, this lipstick is exactly that! It smells quite nice, making it easy to wear and you only need a couple of coats to achieve a bright red lip! It’s not too drying and does take a couple of go’s to remove, but I love the bright, red shade it leaves on your lips! The Chloe Ferry Cosmetics range has lots of different shades of liquid lipstick and at just under a tenner, it’s a lot more cost-effective than a Kylie Jenner lip kit! I’m also obsessed with this bronze eyeshadow palette from Technic. I picked it …

Health // The GULP Challenge

Healthy living and body positivity is rife across social media currently. Whatever shape or size you are, I don’t believe matters and whilst I would always opt to be a dress size smaller if I could, I wouldn’t say it’s a major hang-up. However eating well and putting goodness back into my body is something I’m all for. Whilst recipes and food is a topic I blog about on the regular, drinks isn’t something I often chat about. Throughout my teens I rarely drank water, opting for juice and the Holy Grail, fizzy pop. Whilst sometimes only a can of diet coke or ice cold Fanta lemon will do, it should rarely turn into a daily or weekly treat. Nowadays I love to have a 2 litre bottle of still water on my desk at work to drink throughout the day and we always have sugar free peach or cherry flavoured squash in at home, to save us getting tempted by the fizzy drink aisle on the food shop! So, when Home 2 Office Water …

Food // Koop, Bold Street

Recently I had half an hour to kill before I attended an event and I found myself on Bold Street with a slightly rumbling tummy. If you’re local to the city you’ll know Bold St is the place to find the latest eateries and the most tried and tested options too.  I noticed Koop is available as an option on Colu, accepting the Liverpool Pound and seeing as my app is still loaded up, I thought why not give it a whirl! Firstly I was struck by the interiors. Quite a small, narrow restaurant with tables either side but neon signs on the wall – chicken themed obvs and an exposed kitchen so you can see the chefs cooking. The menu has a few different options – burgers, wraps, salads and sides. I went for the chicken thigh burger and a side of sweet potato wedges.  And here’s where it went downhill. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t wowed by the food. The wedges I could have made at home. Quite easily. They weren’t crispy at …

Liv Organic Food Market - Review

Food // Organic Food Market – Bold Street

One thing I love about being a blogger in Liverpool is the diversity in events and the opportunities that knock every once in a while. Known for its independent restaurants, great bars and diversity when it comes to dining; the introduction of a new organic food market on Bold Street was welcomed with open arms! Encouraging city dwellers and the average Joe give a vegetarian or vegan diet a go, the food market which opened recently is Liverpool’s answer to Whole Foods. Always one to stay ahead of the curve, Bold Street is the perfect location and when I received an invite to pop along to the launch night, how could I refuse! Complete with a fruit and veg market, deli counter, store cupboard aisles and even health and beauty products; all vegetarian and vegan friendly, the Liv Food Market is a welcome addition. After a slight confusion over the event time, we were welcomed into the market and given the opportunity to browse the aisles, take those all-important Instagram snaps and sample a couple …
