When I’m asked to choose my favourite kind of food I’m always torn but somehow Italian always comes out on top. So, when I was invited to visit Vapiano in Manchester I couldn’t say no!
Handily located in the Corn Exchange, it’s really close to Victoria Station and really easy to get too. I was pleasantly surprised by the laid-back, relaxed vibe and how easy it was.
I was given a card on arrival and shown to the different stations within the upstairs of the restaurant. Each station; pasta, pizza, risotto and salads, freshly make your order in front of you – so if you want less chilli or a little more garlic, you just say! Your order is processed on the card and then you present it at the end when you pay – so simple!
I was spoilt for choice when it came to ordering what I fancied to eat. I couldn’t go to an Italian and not get pasta, so I chose the Salvia.
Fusilli pasta, feta cheese, sundried tomatoes and black olives – just my kinda pasta dish! I’m trying to eat less meat so this veggie based dish was perfect. I decided to have a side salad as the chef mentioned their mustard dressing I couldn’t not try!
Italian food can often feel quite ‘card-heavy’ but Vapiano have introduced their ‘Eat Pasta Run Fater’ campaign as carbs are required if you’re into your exercise – whether that’s a 5k run (like I’m doing in June) or marathon running (defo not me!).
They understand how important it is to ‘carb-load’ before race day and have compiled a meal plan which includes the right amount of carbs and protein – without feeling like you’ve eaten too much. And with dishes such as salmon, stir fries and spaghetti bolognaise still on the menu, you don’t even feel like you’ve changed your eating habits!
I really enjoyed my visit to Vapiano and was impressed by just how yummy, and speedy, the food was. I will definitely be back again to try a couple more dishes from the menu – especially one of the pizza’s as they looked amazing!
*I didn’t receive payment for this review, however I was invited by Vapiano, Corn Exchange, Manchester
to sample their Eat Pasta Run Faster sample menu dishes.
