Having posted last weekend about my trip to Parklife festival, and Glastonbury kicking off this Wednesday, I decided to do a post on my festival bag essentials designed to see me through the weekend. I first started going to festivals in 2010 when I visited the holy grail that is Glastonbury for the first time. It was an absolute game changer and now spending a weekend (or two) each summer in a massive field, with a can of warm cider and singing my little drunken heart out is a must. Over the past few years I have racked up visits to V Festival, Download and next month we shall be visiting T in the Park for the first time and these are just a couple of the essentials I need to see me through the weekend!
First up, the bag. I always opt for an across the body bag with a zip and a couple of pockets. Easy to store everything away and you still have your arms free to dance away into the night. Green is my favourite colour so this little number suits me down to the ground, but I am toying with investing in a bum bag. Yep, they’re back in fashion right?
I always invest in a lanyard when I get there. At Glastonbury this is free but at other fests I’ve discovered you have to buy one but its worth it to plan your weekend properly so you don’t miss some of your favourite bands.
Toiletries. Hand sanitiser is a must. I also have a roll of toilet rolls or kids toilet wipes too. They come in handy when your mates start to run out! A deodorant is handy just to freshen up and I like to have a lipgloss or lipstick. You’ll probs be wearing minimal make up so its nice to brighten up your look! I should ave put sun cream on here too but I forgot. Being of ginger decent I am very pale so at least a factor 30 is needed!
Accessories. Sunnies are standard practise come rain or shine and cute hair accessories hide greasy, messy locks. I love the colours of this floral headband I got for my birthday and this headband is an oldie but a goodie. Seen me through many holidays as its so easy to shove in and go!
I popped my iphone in here as it seems no-one uses camera’s anymore at gigs. I suppose its so much easier to take pics and upload straight from your phone but I’d suggest a portable charger to beat the queues at charging tents!
There you have it – have I missed anything you think is a must? Apart from a pac-a-mac or money? If you’re off to a festival this summer let me know where in the comments!
