Once again, long time no blog. This year I keep falling in and out of love with blogging, but after a few months away I have started to miss it. I stopped reading blogs daily too after feeling quite dis-connected with it all and the ‘community’ but I’m determined to turn that around starting now. I’ve got a great couple of posts planned and having read a couple of different bloggers posts focusing on blogging and life in general from Kat at KatherineLouise, Lily over at LlyMlrs and Victoria at VIPXO to name but a few, I’m back in the game!
So enough of that for today and let’s get on with today’s post. First and foremost I am a lifestyle blogger and festival posts have been my bread and butter since I started fresh out of uni in the summer of 2010. And this year I plan to be back with a vengeance! Having already ticked off Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park last month and signalling the start of summer, last weekend I headed to Parklife in Heaton Park, Manchester. Despite being from the North West I normally travel to attend festivals, but after being seriously impressed with the line up last year, my friend Sarah and I decided to try something a little closer to home and I’m so glad we did!
The festival has had a bad rep in the press due to a couple of sad, heartbreaking incidents, which I had to mention in this post as opposed to glossing over, but over all our experience of Parklife was positive. The sun came out to play at times and the highlights of the weekend were Snoop Dog and Disclosure headlining, singing along to Katy B, Sam Smith and the amazing Rudimental and seeing Ella Eyre with Bastille.
I’ve got a couple more festival themed posts planned this summer. I shall be attending T in the Park and V so watch out for those and a packing tips guide.
