The rain we have endured this week well and truly marks the end of summer. I am slowly starting to transition my wardrobe and the heating has officialy been switched back on. However, next Wednesday I get to revisit the sunshine and enjoy a final burst of summer when I jet off to Rome for a lovely 5 day break with my Mumma. This summer has been so amazing with Glastonbury and V Festival being two major highlights, and with the seasonal blues setting in, we thought the only cure to would be to immerse ourselves in culture by venturing out on a well-earned city break.
It is one city my Mum has always wanted to visit and we are excited to eat amazing food, drink a little bit of wine (read ALOT) and enjoy the culture and historic value of the ancient city of Rome. Bustling with super stylish individuals and authentic Italian cuisine around every corner, hopefully Rome will be the perfect get-away for a stylish vacation. However packing for the city break is already starting to become a little bit of a dilemma. The weather expected to be sunny and warm with highs of 20 degrees- dresses, sandals and denim jackets are a must!
Joules B recently got in touch and asked me take part in a little wishlist shopping cos a girl can dream right? I chose my top ten transitional picks that can be mixed and matched for the in-between seasons and the mixed bag of weather we seem to be experiencing! Each piece would be ideal to wear on a city break and can be styled your way. Now, which do I lust after to wear in Rome…..
Perfect for daytime exploring, the ultra cosy sheerling coat by VSP has a luxurious fur trim for premium outerwear. I just love the fur trim on this jacket. Perfect to throw on when the sun begins to go in, but there is still a bottle of red to be drunk whilst taking in the beautiful scenery!
The chunky knit sweater is a timeless classic you can mix and match with any jeans or leggings, and this Uruguay Sweater by Joseph is a must for bold layering. The print on this jumper is perfect. I would team with jeans, burgundy fedora and jeans.
This MSGM diamond shirt with it’s striking statement print is the perfect piece to wear from a daytime stroll on the Piazza to well deserved evening drinks. I just want this to be hanging in my wardrobe already!
These luxuriously comfortable must have’s from Isabel Marant, complete with a ultra feminine concealed wedge, make the perfect comfortable yet stylish day time footwear. Now, I want a pair of these trainers so badly! They look so comfortable and ideal for a day walking the cobbled streets of Rome! I hope Isabel Marant introduces her amaze footwear pieces to her H&M range.
Look no further than the ultra covetable Alexander Wang classic, the Rocco bag, for unrivalled all-day-long glamour. Need I say anymore about this beauty? Thought not.
Add a perfectly elegant extra layer to your evening repertoire, with the simple and beautifully designed Leather trim cape by Joseph, to effortlessly drape over your evening attire.
Reflect the Italian aesthetic with a show stopping Wild Baroque dress from the Versace Collection. I adore the print of this baroque dress. Perfect for evening drinks as this dress will see you deep into the night!
Up to the minute and super sleek, the classic pointed Desiree heels by Sam Edelman, complete with a sharp stiletto heel are a evening wear fail safe. Whether they are worn with jeans are a classic LBD, these heels are a must, right?
No evening outfit is complete without a classic clutch to complement any outfit and the Fifi Lips clutch by Lulu Guinness is sure to tick all the boxes whilst adding a playful touch to night time accessorising. Cos every girl needs gorgeous arm candy!
Finish any look with chunky statement jewellery and the triple wrap gold chain bracelet by Riccardo Forconi is set to add a pop of designer-led glamour to any well-edited party wear.
If you’ve been to Rome I would love to hear from you! Send your hints and tips over! x
