Summertime Sadness

Yesterday my mum and I took full advantage of the Bank Holiday and the return of the gorgeous weather and took a trip up the coast to Heysham near Morecambe. It is a gorgeous secluded little spot with a small sandy beach, coastal path and beach path and huge field with a couple of horses and ponies over-looking the beach. Despite the hot temperature, it was pretty quiet which was perfect for my dog, Buttons, who likes to take it easy now she’s reached the grand age of 11, and keep out of the way of children who like to stroke the small dog! We waked along the beach, had a little paddle and then looked around Heysham village. We decide to stop for tea at a lovely country pub on the ride home and ate in the beer garden with Buttons laid at our feet! I had chicken wrapped in bacon with a blue  cheese sauce and Mum had an epic portion of fish and chips-ideal after a day at the seaside and a great way to round of the end of the last summer Bank Holiday!
