The end of the festival season always signals summer coming to end. We have been blessed with amazing weather from June right through to this coming weekend, if the weather reports are to be believed and it didn’t disappoint this past weekend went I attended V Festival in Stafford on Saturday.
Myself and Natalie who blogs over at Fairytales and Unicorns headed down early Saturday morning with a McDonalds breakfast in our bellies and the hope that the weather report of rain was untrue and the sun would make an appearance. We stayed at The Old Orleton Inn in Wellington which was a short taxi ride away from Weston Park. The hotel was lovely- gorgeously decorated twin room with a en suite. Complete with colourful décor, soft cushions on the bed, complimentary tea and coffee and a flat screen tv. The hotel had a lovely garden which would have been perfect to relax in if we had stayed a little longer.
We arrived at Weston Park at around half 11 when gates opened and made our way in. We had a wish list of the bands we wanted to see and luckily we managed to catch every one! The sets were a little shorter than other festivals I’d been to, but thing turned out to be a good thing as we packed so much into the one day! It seems the weather was also on our side. There was a short burst of rain on the day, but luckily we were in a tent watching Mcfly at the time, so we missed it and got to enjoy the warm weather all day!
Highlights had to be 5ive who were fantastic, Mcfly who I definitely would go watching again, John Newman and Emile Sande who was amazing.
I think I am now a convert to V Festival and will defo be trying to get tickets again next year! But I have to say, despite being a massive fan of festivals, it was so good getting home after a full day of awesome music to a comfy bed, proper toilet and an amazing cooked breakfast and shower the next morning! The only downside was knowing we couldn’t head back to Weston Park the next day to see Queen B do her thang! Can’t wait for V 2014!
