Flowers in bloom: National Trust Days Out

Wow, a whole week ago now I attended the Vintage Festival at Speke Hall and Garden. Until the festival I had never heard of or been to Speke Hall before so I was looking forward to seeing what they were all about. It is a National Trust property and is described as a hidden oasis on the edge of Liverpool. Located next to the airport it really is a fantastic little hideaway just outside the city.

Speke Hall is a unique Tudor mansion with rich Victorian interiors and is set within the most beautiful gardens. With a shop, restaurant, maze and play area for big and little kids, it is a fantastic day out. Whilst we were there we saw lots of families young and old, enjoying the sunshine and warm weather with picnic’s and dogs on leads enjoying a relaxing Sunday. We made our way around the gardens, looking at all the beautiful flowers in bloom and then went into the Hall. Unfortunately photography is banned inside the Hall, but I took plenty on our leisurely walk round and then we enjoyed a spot of afternoon tea to round of the day!
