I’ll be the first to admit I have a serious penchant for shopping. Pretty dresses, everyday tees, skirts, it’s just oh so easy to pick up yet another grey marl t-shirt when I am making a once-over trip to New Look but as I get older I am constantly trying to re-evaluate my style and dress for my size 12/14 figure, so when I read about having a ‘capsule wardrobe’ of classic pieces I was intruiged.
Items such as a staple leather (or pleather, come on I’m not made of money) jacket, fitted blazer, LDB, go-with-everything sandals and the elusive amazing fitting jeans should sit in every womans wardrobe but more often than not, as us girls shop so much, I don’t know about you but my wardrobe seems to follow trends rather than scream quality.
I mean, what part of K Stew or her fash pack thought this was a good look?!
So, with this said, my aim for this year going forward is to stop buying fad trends (bet you’ve never worn your harem trousers since the Summer of ’10 either) and focus on great quality clothing that both fits and flatters, otherwise quite frankly it’s not worthy the price tag. Any trend bandwagon’s you’ve jumped on and never seen the light of day again or already have a capsule wardrobe?
